As the first light railway in Vietnam, the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line has a total length of 13.02 km and 12 stations, and adopts elevated structure. It was officially put into operation on November 6, 2021 after acceptance inspection. The project is of great significance in improving the function of Hanoi urban road network, alleviating traffic pressure and promoting regional economic development.

So far, the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line in Hanoi, Vietnam is the first and largest overseas urban transportation project that adopts "Chinese standards, Chinese technology and Chinese craftsmanship” in the whole industrial chain, including design standards, investment and financing, equipment and materials, construction, supervision and operation management. The dedicated wireless communication system of the project was built by EASTCOM.

As the first light railway in Vietnam, the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line witnessed the first application of domestic TETRA system in overseas rail transit industry. Based on TETRA standard, the rail transit dedicated wireless communication system independently developed by EASTCOM mainly consists of switching center, base station, repeater, wireless dispatching server, wireless dispatching console, vehicle-mounted radio station, fixed radio station and handheld radio station, etc. The system can provide reliable communication methods for voice and data information exchange between metro operation users, such as operators in the control center/ depot, station attendants, train drivers, etc. It can provide reliable guarantee for driving safety, improving transportation efficiency and management level, and improving service quality. The system supports multiple languages and can meet the operation and maintenance needs of rail transit users in different regions and countries.

Since the commencement of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line project, EASTCOM had carefully organized on-site survey and design liaison at the early stage, and made detailed planning for the production and delivery of equipment specified in the contract, in order to ensure smooth completion and successful trial operation. In view of the difficulties in delivering overseas projects, the climate characteristics of Hanoi, and the prevention and control of COVID-19, the Company provided a solid guarantee for the official operation of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line.
